Preparing For Interior Wall Painting
Are you considering painting the inside of your home? Have you already scheduled for the painters to arrive? If so, there are a few things you can do to prepare your space for a quick and efficient paint job:
Thank you for considering us for your internal and external painting needs. Call us today to discuss your project, and we look forward to helping you bring it to life!
- Clear the walls: Clear photographs, hanging plants, and another wall décor from your walls. Unless items cannot be moved, we recommend taking them off the wall or surface to be painted. This expedites the painting process and allows our team to put a full coat of paint on the wall.
- Clear the floors: Do your best to move objects away from walls. This means everything from couches to indoor plants – and everything in between. The space will allow our painters to access your walls and get the job done. Can't move a heavy object? We can help. Are there permanent objects that you can't move at all? We'll cover them with painters' clothes or plastic covering to avoid damaging your belongings.
- Prep your surfaces: You can do a few more things to speed up a paint job and cut down on costs – namely, prepare the surface to be painted. This means removing nails and screws, filling holes with putty, and (if required) sanding the walls. Some of these tasks are easy – some are more challenging and may not be required. As you coordinate your project, ask what types of prep would be helpful, and consider spending a few minutes before the painters arrive.
- Put Kids and Animals in a safe space: Kids, animals, and wet paint are bad. Consider sending your kids over to a friend's house or school, and plan to secure your pets in a separate room in the house.
- Create a Path: Create a path from your front door (or another door) to your painting area. This won't be challenging for most homes, but if you have a lot of belongings or are working on a renovation project, make sure the painters can get where they need to go!
- Set the Temperature: The best application takes place in environments ranging from 50 to 70 degrees or so for interior paint. Paints are set best at these temperatures. Painters can also get too cold or hot in frigid or overly hot environments – so please keep our people in mind!
- Adjust your Schedule: Make sure you're present when the painters are set to arrive and that you have enough time on your schedule to remain home while the project is completed – if you should desire. Our team doesn't want to rush and deliver a substandard product.
- Be available: If our team has questions, they'll ask you. We are all about customer service and are dedicated to providing the best possible product.
