​Most concrete surfaces can also be painted in the home, such as a garage. However, since it is a porous surface, our painters will have to investigate whether there is moisture coming from beneath the surface as that might need to be sealed first with something such as epoxy or glue.

That will cause additional interior painting prep, and if the concrete needs to be cleaned or refinished, we might need to hire a third party and coordinate with them on the finishing of the surface before any paint can be applied.

The average cost of interior painting varies by how many walls you have in total and what type of paint you want to use. The painting project's total cost will be calculated using the number of labor hours required on your project, in addition to all the supplies needed for the house painting project. You have the option to choose the type of paint you desire based on color samples you have tried or brand loyalty. Paint names like Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Behr are a preferred choice for our interior painters, and they can recommend the right sheen needed for your painting application.

We recommend a high sheen paint product for all wet indoor areas to keep the moisture from being absorbed through the walls and causing mold and mildew in the long run, especially in Bothell where we have high humidity from fall to spring. Although a higher painting sheen, like eggshell or pearl, might seem more expensive at first, it will save money in the long term for those wet room applications such as bathrooms, mudrooms, or wherever there is lots of steam. However, for typically dry interior rooms, a high painting sheen is not required, and you can save money by choosing a flatter paint unless that's not the look you are going for.​

Depending on the condition of the walls or the pre-existing house color, the walls might require multiple coats of paint. We usually recommend two coats for most applications; however, going from a darker shade to a lighter one might require further applications. It also depends on if you're going from flat paint to one with a higher sheen as the walls will naturally absorb more paint and therefore need more coats to get the shinier finish. Having more coats of paint, however, is beneficial for the longevity of the paint and the protection of the walls. That also means that the paint will stick better to the walls without peeling, fading, or chipping for many years to come. We highly recommend doing multiple coats for your interior project to protect your investment if your budget allows it.

In the Seattle area, most exterior home painting can be done in the three seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, except for a few Winter days. Rain is not as big of a blocker for exterior house painting as the outside temperature.

We recommend that your exterior painting project be performed when temperatures are consistently above forty degrees Fahrenheit. That will ensure that the paint is applied correctly, as with lower temperatures, the home paint tends to contract and then expand again on the surface when the temperatures rise, which can cause cracking.
